1. Glastonbury

One of the best known UK festivals of them all, Glastonbury takes place in June at Worthy Farm in Pilton. Famous for its wild party atmosphere, Glastonbury is just as well known for its mud and crazy vibes as it is for its top musical acts. If you only go to one festival this summer, this is the one for you.

2. End Of The Road

Held at the end of August, the End of the Road Festival takes place close to Salisbury at Larmer Tree Gardens. This is a much lower-key festival than Glastonbury. Think craft beer and roaming peacocks! The atmosphere may not be as wild and hedonistic, but if you’re a newcomer to the festival scene this could be one for you.

3. The Black Deer Festival

Are you keen to channel your inner American? Head to Kent in June for the all-out Americana fest that is the Black Deer Festival. After its great success in 2018, it has returned again with plenty of country bands and delicious smoked meat – basically, everything that makes America great! Don’t forget your cowboy boots!

4. The Truck Festival

Are you keen to keep things intimate this summer? The Truck Festival is the one for you. This indie-leaning weekender takes place in July and is one of the top small festivals in the UK today. With its low-key festival staging, this Oxford based event was launched back in 1998 close to beautiful Chipping Norton, and has firmly established its reputation as a popular choice with those who want to enjoy great music with likeminded people.

5. Strawberries & Creem

Despite its strange name, this one day festival in June boasts an old-school music lineup and a well-established heritage having been held every year since 2014. First set up by some local students from Cambridge who took it into their heads to arrange some festival staging hire, festival sound hire and festival lighting hire and to launch their own event, 2019 sees the biggest and best incarnation of this festival yet.

6. British Summer Time

If you’re serious about hearing some of the biggest name stars in the music industry, you should head to the British Summer Time festival held between the 5th and 14th July in London’s Hyde Park. This year’s lineup on its festival staging includes such famous names as Stevie Wonder, Barbra Streisand and Bob Dylan, so you won’t fail to be impressed.

Are you ready to take a risk and try something new this summer? Head to Abbots Ripton close to Huntingdon in mid-August and you could be one of the pioneers trying out this brand new first-time festival. Centring around jazz music, this festival is bang on-trend and holds a lot of potential.

8. Wireless

You’ll certainly see some big names in rap if you head to Finsbury Park from the 5th to the 7th July this year for the Wireless festival. Actually, if you don’t already have tickets, you’ll be out of luck, since Wireless 2019 sold all its tickets in record time. Cardi B is headlining this year, so that might explain why it’s so popular among the younger crowd.

9. Green Man

Are you a closet hippy? If so, August’s Green Man festival in the Brecon Beacons is just the playground for you. This one-time folk festival now has some heavier music but it’s still a pretty peaceful place to chill in your tent and listen to some cool tunes.

10. Latitude

Ready to take the kids to their first ever festival? Latitude is the place to start. This event prides itself on being family-friendly and with its laid-back atmosphere and children’s activities, it promises to be a weekend of unrivaled relaxation in the Surrey countryside. As well as children’s theatre and lake swimming, you’ll also enjoy some pretty amazing headline acts like Snow Patrol and George Ezra – what’s not to like?
